As a Japanese Canadian, I have learned to lower my expectations of “Japanese” restaurants here in Kingston, but I draw the line when I order sushi and get dry and hard rice, and dry and chewy “sashimi” on that rice.

I sure hope that my terrible sashimi “jerky” experience was a one-off; but I will never know since I will not be returning. How did they win all these peoples choice awards, I can honestly say this was worse than Akira’s, which also served undercooked hard rice in their sushi (sashimi on rice)…

Definitions:

SASHIMI = raw fish
SUSHI = hand formed cooked sticky rice + “sashimi” or other
MAKIZUSHI = rolled “sashimi” or other + rice + other

We’re sorry to hear about your terrible sashimi “jerky” experience from our store. But I did checked our menu again to see if we are offering sashimi and found out we still don’t serve sashimi.

Delicious fresh made Sushi every time! Roll special's are a great price, you honestly can’t go wrong (if you haven't tried the peanut butter crunch roll you're missing out)!

Kino’s is hands down the freshest, tastiest sushi in Kingston. Try the PB roll, it’s odd but it really works! I try and take photos, but it is eaten too quickly to snap the pic.

The food was so picture perfect, I couldn't wait to dig in. Let's just say, the 30 piece platter was beyond excellent! 100% the best sushi in town with a wonderfully passionate owner.
It's only been 2 days since I've had it, and I want to go back and get more asap.

This is the best place for sushi in Kingston when I’m in town and has never disappointed. Staff is always polite and the sushi is delicious!

Great food and great presentation. Service is fantastic as well. Only one time has my order been late on a busy Friday night, and they were kind enough to give a discount and some free spring rolls, even though they didn't have to.

Possibly the best sushi I've had in Canada. Everything tastes fresh and not fishy. Rolls are properly prepared and not falling apart. Rice is fresh and not hard. I loved every roll and every combination. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for sushi in Kingston. It is takeout only so order ahead either on the phone or messenger. The guy working at the front is kind and takes the time to talk to you. This will be my sushi spot from now on. I got the kinos platter 30 piece and the chicken fried dumplings. Even the dumplings were great.

This was the second time ordering sushi from kinos but the first time I’ve dropped in. The service is 5+ stars. Very chatty and the owner was even speaking with a couple young lads who came in on their lunch break from school and spoke to them using their name. It was very impressive. I can’t say enough about the quality of the food and for what you get the price is right. One of the best sushi restaurants in Kingston.
